About

Welcome to Blairwood Elementary! We are so glad that you stopped by. The elementary is home to preschool through sixth-grade students with a strong focus on self-regulation and awareness of student's own behaviors through our mantra of PRIDE. We apply purpose, responsibility, integrity, determination, and excellence throughout our actions and academics. Class sizes average 18-20 during a typical school year with several classrooms having a full-time paraprofessional assigned along with their regular education teacher. We incorporate a PBIS system for positive behavior reinforcement encouraging students to stay on the right track. This allows them to earn rewards based on their choices. Additionally, we are a PAX school that provides more support on self-regulation for students in a fun, game-like model to allow some friendly competition based upon good behavior. Students are also encouraged to talk with our School Resources Officer should they have any concerns or need an issue addressed. Lastly, our school provides Life Skills training for students to help them make good choices when it comes to relationships, avoiding risky behaviors, and combating peer pressure.
